Brooks; Part 2 of The Shappley Collection, which includes French furniture, paintings and decorative objects; fine furniture from a prominent Houston home; and an important collection of English furniture and decorative arts acquired from Apter-Fredericks, London, and sold for the benefit of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Highlights include a serene painting by George Inness, as well as works by Charles Henri Joseph Leickert, Willem van de Velde the Younger and Studio, Donald Sultan and Claude Venard; a stunning 11.46 carat diamond ring; an pair of George III armorial satinwood demi-lune side tables; and a monumental Philip's Thirty-Inch terrestrial library globe by Rand McNally.
