Estates Are Our Expertise

New Orleans Auction Galleries has specialized in handling large estates since NOAG’s inception, and we pride ourselves on the personal attention, level of service and expertise that we are able to consistently provide to our clients and to estate planners, attorneys and executors. We recognize that the process of handling of an estate can seem overwhelming and stressful. NOAG excels in simplifying that process for you – ensuring a seamless, stress-free and special experience, from consignment to auction.

We know that behind every estate and every individual item, there is a story.  Integral to our process is getting to know those stories and ensuring that they’re presented in a meaningful and compelling way. We’re passionate about capturing and sharing the stories of each estate, collection and person in a way that enhances the personal connection of each item and strengthens the sale.

Frequently Asked Questions

Handling an estate or large collection can be overwhelming. At NOAG, we strive to make the process as seamless and straightforward as possible and we welcome the opportunity to discuss the auction process with you and your family. You can call us (504-566-1849), send us an email ([email protected]) or submit an estimate request form to begin the process.

If you are unfamiliar with the auction or consignment process, the best place to start is to call us (504-566-1849), send us an email ([email protected]) or submit an estimate request form. Please provide us with as much information as possible (an overview of the collection, where you are located, timeline, etc). As you begin the process, be sure to set aside any paperwork or documentation.

Auction estimates are not the same as a formal appraisal. The valuations that we provide reflect the current market value of an item and are derived from recent comparable auction results, as well as careful consideration of an item’s rarity, provenance and numerous other factors. In most instances, you do not need a formal appraisal.

Still unsure if you need an appraisal or an auction evaluation? Give us a call (504-566-1849) or email us ([email protected]) and we’ll be happy to discuss with you in more detail.
