Nineteenth-Century Tiffany & Co. Sterling Silver Salver, third quarter 19th century, by John Chandler Moore (1803-1874), New York, New York, of circular form, with a broad band of flat-chased winged merlions separated by urns and foliate scrolls, with beaded rim and raised on four scroll-mantled plinth feet, dia. 12", 27.93 t. oz.
- Condition: Overall Condition: Good. Two pinpoint dents on the plateau, with some scattered scuffs. Some loss of detail to the well-chased banding. Marked (on the underside) "Tiffany & Co. / 1240 / English Sterling / 925-1000 / 1827 / 550 Broadway" flanked by the "M" maker's mark of John Chandler Moore. Marks very good. A handsome piece with no condition issues other than the expected signs of age.
