Suite of Four Provincial Louis XV-Style Fruitwood Fauteuils, late 19th century, each with a shaped caned back surmounted by a floral crest, joined by molded scrolling arms to the cushioned caned seat, raised on molded cabriole legs, headed by floral carving and ending in scrolled toes, includes four white cotton duck conforming cushions, h. 40-1/2".
- Condition: All chairs are tight and solid. They exhibit normal mars, shrinkage and wear consistent with age and use, most notably rubbing to the finish along perimeter edges, the top rails and arms. All caning is intact and free of breaks. The upholstered seat cushions are in good condition. One chair exhibits an area of scuffs and a shallow gouge/abrasion on the back side of each leg, both at a corresponding height. ADDITIONAL MEASUREMENTS: Overall height 40-1/2"; depth 20"; seat height 17"; seat height to top of cushion 20-1/2"; overall width 24"; width between arms 21"; seat depth 19-1/2".
