Provenance: Descended in the family of Alessandro VIII Cenci-Bolognetti, Prince di Vicovaro, Marquess di Rocca Priora (1888-1966) and his American/Illinois wife Felicite Gilett Ogelsby (1879-1954), whose brother John Ogelsby served as a Governor of Illinois.

Notes: Numerous copies of Holbein's triptych were made in the 19th century, including a popular collotype in 1884 by Hans Leonhard Schaufelein. The triptych is conserved at Alte Pinakothek in Munich, Germany.
