after the 1879 marble by Eduard Muller (German, 1828-1895) now conserved at the National Museum, Berlin, inscribed "Nach Prof. Muller von O. Gradler, Berlin" and with a "Guss V. H. Gladenbeck + Sohn Friedrichshagen" foundry inscription along back bottom edge, on a wooden base.

  • Condition: **In generally good condition with scattered nicks, areas of abrading and rubbing. Some areas with a roughening to the patinated surface. Surface soiling and accretions, especially in more deeply modeled areas. Some oxidation. Bronze is fairly lightweight and is now attached to base. All consistent with age, material and usage. Base with losses, chips and scratches.
