Monumental American Aesthetic Movement Giltwood Pier Mirror, fourth quarter 19th century, with a circular giltwood pedestal built into the base, flanked by molded anthemia, the sides with incising, medallions and Egyptian fans, the crest decorated with a sunflower flanking tapered fluted brackets holding acroteria side crests, h. 121", w. 26-1/2".


  • Condition: In "as found" condition, with scattered wear to the gilded surface from years of rubbing and cleaning. Some scattered chips to the gesso along the edges. Small losses to the embossed floral gesso decor of the circular stand. Lacking the round marble insert. Very minimal gold paint touch-up. The round stand is loose where it dowels to the mirror frame.
