American Classical Revival Mahogany Nine-Tube Chiming Case Clock

ca. 1900, with an arched cornice, the beveled and glazed door flanked by columns, on scroll feet, the movement by J. J. Elliot, London, and the face so marked.
h. 92-1/2", w. 25-1/2", d. 18"

  • Condition: **In good "as found" condition.

The finish appears to be an original finish, now somewhat dry. It exhibits normal mars and wear, most notably rubbing to the edges of the feet.

The silver metal (presumably nickel) elements of the face are now oxidized/tarnished.

All nine tubes are present. Weights and keys present. The pendulum is missing the pin at its top to secure it to the works. At the time, this was removed from the consignor's home, all chimes played and the clock worked, but the chime hammers needed adjustment for even volume. That said, New Orleans Auction does not guarantee the functioning of clocks. They frequently need adjustment after moving.
