American Federal Cherry, Walnut and Tiger Maple Chest, first quarter 19th century, with an oxbow top and a center bank of drawers, cross-banded with tiger maple and unusual elongated maple escutcheons, h. 41", w. 39-1/2", d. 20-1/4". Provenance: From a Brewton, Alabama estate.


  • Condition: In overall good condition. Case appears to be tight and solid with normal mars, wear and indications of age and use. There is a shrinkage split on the right side of the case, about 11" long and 1/4" wide at the widest point. The brasses are replacements utilizing the original borings. There is a very good quality, old patch at the side of the right front foot.
