American Federal Line-Inlaid Mahogany Serpentine-Front Chest, first quarter 19th century, the top edged in contrasting light wood stringing, over four graduated drawers with beaded edges, raised on bracket feet, h. 36-3/4", w. 44-1/8", d. 21-1/2". Provenance: The Estate of Marjorie Abbey Morrison, Hammond, Louisiana.

  • Condition: AMERICAN FEDERAL Mahogany Serpentine-Front Chest: Note that this lot is American Federal, not George III as previously stated. In overall very good condition. The case is tight and solid, with normal mars, wear, shrinkage and indications of age and use. The brasses are of the period and appear to be original. Some scattered, good quality repairs to the cock-beading around the drawers, and some veneer repairs and minor shrinkage cracks to the stiles adjacent to the point where the rails between drawers join them.
