American Late Classical Mahogany and Cherry Butler's Chest, second quarter 19th century, the projecting upper drawer opening to reveal a fitted interior, over a bank of three drawers, flanked by scroll pilasters and scroll feet, h. 50-1/8", w. 42-3/4", d. 22".


  • Condition: A few surface cracks to the top. The fitted fold-down butler's desk drawer with a replaced leather writing surface. All interior drawers with glass knobs. The interior cabinet door, lacking its lock and now replaced by a glass knob, opens to reveal three drawers with brass knobs. Various staining and marks to drawer interior. Several veneer losses on runners between drawers and also the drawer fronts; some have been patched, others colored in. All drawer locks are present. The piece is sturdy with a warm finish.
