third quarter 19th century, New York, the crest with a circular metal plaque depicting Cupid playing a violin, above an open shelf supported by winged angels, the inlaid slant lid opening to a divided compartment for storage.

Notes: This cabinet was formerly conserved at the High Museum, Atlanta, Georgia, as part of the Virginia Carroll Crawford Collection of 19th Century American Decorative Arts. It was deaccessioned in 2005 and retains its museum inventory on the back, "HMA1991.68".
