American Rococo Revival Rosewood Cabinet-Base Etagere

third quarter 19th century, New York, possibly by Alexander Roux, the upper section with a pierced crest with carved birds' heads above two shaped graduated shelves, supported by elaborate pierced and carved brackets, the base with a pair of carved doors with floral details.
h. 71", w. 52", d. 22"

Provenance: The Estate of Frank Fasullo, New Orleans, Louisiana.

  • Condition: **In "as found" condition. The carved elements appear to be intact with no losses. There is one small piece of trim molding lacking from the left door. There is also a small piece of wood lacking from the liner of the left side opening. The doors and side openings likely had glass originally, and are now fitted with curtains only. The top deck has some faded areas and imperfections to the finish.
