American Rococo Revival Rosewood Cylinder Secretary, Attributed to Thomas Brooks, Brooklyn, New York

third quarter 19th century, with an associated etagere-form gallery, consisting of a pair of graduated serpentine shelves on foliate-carved brackets and with a floral-carved crest over a pair of doors with shaped mirrored panels, the cylinder roll opening to reveal a pull-out writing surface and interior inlaid with drawers and niches, over a pair of drawers, raised on floral- and foliate-carved cabriole legs.
