American Rococo Revival Laminated Rosewood Sofa in the "Henry Clay" Pattern, mid-19th century, attributed to John Henry Belter, New York, the serpentine back of tripartite form, each section with a floral-, fruit- and foliate-carved crest, the back extending to closed arms, a serpentine seat and cabriole legs, now upholstered in the period fashion in tufted brocade, h. 42-1/2", w. 78", d. 32".


  • Condition: The frame is structurally very solid. A very small chip to the center rose of the crest. The surface with an old refinish. The back left side shows sun bleaching. Seat fabric is worn, as well as the back side. Lacking rear leg casters.
