American Victorian Cast Iron Three-Tier Fountain

fourth quarter 19th century, the standard with a trio of molded cranes standing on a tapered base, the three graduated, reeded pans with egg-and-dart-molded edges, with fluted columnar supports, the top with a molded sunflower.
h. 94", dia. 45"

  • Condition: **In very good "as found" condition.

There is peeling and missing paint throughout with corresponding oxidation to the iron.

The base through lower bowl is very solid. The stem above the lower bowl is now detached and needs to be secured with new bolts. The fountain retains its uppermost cast iron nozzle/diffuser, which is also loose. It is quite corroded at its point of intersection with the stem. No pump system is present.

No breaks or repairs to the iron are apparent.
