Antebellum New Orleans Coin (.900) Silver Goblet, third quarter 19th century, by Adolphe Himmel (1825-1877) for Hyde & Goodrich, the waisted bowl decorated with repousse flowers centering a rococo cartouche, with beaded rim, raised on a domed foot decorated en suite with milled palmette banding, engraved on the cartouche "C. Delacroix / from / Louise", h. 6", dia. 3-1/2", 6.58 t. oz.


  • Condition: The foot has a compression dent around the stem, which has formed a spiral crease fracture and two large, irregular cracks, 1" and 1-1/4", which follow the lines of the floral decoration. The bowl has a small fingerprint dent at the lower edge, but otherwise only the expected surface wear and scattered dings consistent with age and use. Marked (on the bottom, inside the stem): "Hyde & Goodrich / H / Manufacturers / New Orleans".
