primarily ca. 1860-1924, German, including twenty-four dinner plates, dia. 9-3/4", eight soup plates, dia. 9-1/4", seven salad/dessert plates, dia. 7-3/4" to 8", eleven bread-and-butter plates, dia. 6", three square dishes, w. 7" to 9", d. 7" to 9", a sauce boat with integral stand, h. 4", w. 9-1/2", a pair of shell-form salts, h. 2-1/4", w. 4-1/4", a pair of bottle coasters, dia. 5-1/2", two platters, w. 15-3/4" to 19", d. 11-1/2" to 13-3/4", a mustard pot with ladle, h. 5", dia. 6", sixteen knife rests, w. 3-3/4", and for stoppers, h. 3".


Provenance: By descent in the Kilp Family, Germany; to Antonio (1885-1959) and Carola (1895-1967) Kilp, Wiesbaden, Germany; to their daughter Carmelita Kilp Blackburn (1923-2017), Sugar Land, Texas.


  • Condition: **DINNER PLATES: Each with two cancellation marks. One with a filled "Y" hairline from the rim, one with several "flea bites" at rim edge and one with a 1/16" firing crack at rim edge.
    SOUPS: Each with two cancellation marks. One with a 3" hairline from the rim.
    SALAD/DESSERT PLATES: Each with two cancellation marks.
    B & B PLATES: Each with two cancellation marks. One with a tiny nick to rim edge. Two examples are slightly smaller in diameter.
    ***THREE (not six) SQUARE DISHES: One of the pair of smaller examples with a flake chip and small adjacent loss at one corner. The larger example with two cancellation marks.
    SAUCE BOAT: Tiny faint hairline to the boat rim.
    PAIR SALTS: Both with two cancellation marks.
    PAIR COASTERS: One with old repaired chip at lower edge.
    PLATTERS: Both with two cancellation marks.
    MUSTARD POT w/LADLE: Two cancellation marks.
    KNIFE RESTS: One with a tiny nick to a "point".
    ***FOUR (not three) STOPPERS: All with original cork. One porcelain top with a tiny chip to the lower edge and one with a 1/4" dia. very shallow flake chip on top.

    ***Despite the cancellation marks and overall minor condition issues, this is a great party fill-in group.
