Assembled Pair of Jacob Petit Paris Porcelain Sweet Meat Dishes

mid-19th century, inspired by similar Meissen examples, decorated, respectively, with a male and female figure in 18th-century costume on a flower-encrusted base, each signed "J.P." on the bottom in underglaze blue.

  • Provenance: The Estate of Frank Fasullo, New Orleans, Louisiana.
  • Condition: **Each with scattered losses to flowers. The female with restoration to the neck and handle on the right, as well as the corner of the basket. The male with minor restorations to the back bottom corners. A 1/4" flake to the back edge. Restoration to the scroll on the top right side of the basket. Loss to the raised gilt inside the basket and rubbing to the gilt.
