Provenance: Daniil Yakovlevich Cherkes (1899-1971); acquired from the family of Daniil Cherkes in the 1980s by the present owner.

Notes: Accompanied by a written expertise from N. Yu. Sharlov of the State Research Institution for Restoration, Moscow, regarding the painting.


  • Condition: **Canvas relined; surface dirt; minor abrasions; craquelure. Inpainting repairs to face, along proper left temple, background, coat and along lower edge. A few spot-like whitish accretions/losses to lower quadrant. Frame with losses, nicks and abrasions.
