Austrian First Standard (.935) Silver and Enamel Table Box, first quarter 20th century, by Anton Jakobi, Vienna, of rectangular form, the hinged lid with a cobalt guilloche enamel center and plique-a-nuit butterfly corners, banded with opaque white enamel, the sides with guilloche enamel en suite, the whole raised on four ram's-masque feet, 4-1/2" x 3-5/8", 11.36 t. oz.


  • Condition: Overall Condition: Good. Some light scratches to the enamel, most notably on the lid near the front edge, with one or two tiny frits, but no significant chips or losses noted. Scattered dark spotting on the silver, easily removed with a good cleaning. Marked (on the interior bottom): "Sterling / 935 / Austria / 170" with the "AJ" maker's mark of Anton Jacobi and the "caduceus" Austrian export mark; the interior lid part-marked.
