Capodimonte-Style Molded and Polychrome-Painted Neoclassical Plaque, pre-1890, Italian, the colorful plaque depicting Prometheus in the sky, holding fire, the eagle pursuing him, the goddesses Ceres and Demeter and the gods Dionysus and Anemoi sitting below, in a shield-form painted wooden frame, marked with the blue crowned "N" used by Ginori, h. 23", w. 19".
- Condition: No visible losses, cracks or repairs to plaque surface; the exterior of the plaque was not examined out of the custom-made frame. There may be some minor wear to glaze along the figures' arms and elbows, but it is difficult to discern due to surface soiling and accretions - which can easily be removed with a thorough cleaning. In overall very good condition. The frame has some shrinkage cracks and minor nicks as is to be expected with age and use.
