18th century, Spanish or Latin American, on a painted base marked "Nino Jesus, Formariano ..., Natural de Torreyclec ...".
h. 28-1/4", w. 13-1/2", d. 9-3/4"

  • Condition: **The right and left arms, which were carved separately, have been repaired at their joints. There is a loss to the left forefinger, and scattered losses to the left foot. The left thumb has been repaired. The figure is lacking its globus cruciger, and perhaps another element as there is another spherical hole on the base near the right foot. There is a large shrinkage crack that extends downward from the figure's crown to its buttock. Scattered chips/losses to pigment and gesso, scratches and surface soiling are scattered throughout.
In overall good estate condition. Condition is consistent with age, medium and use.
