Cast Zinc Two-Tier Figural Fountain, Attributed to J. W. Fiske, New York

fourth quarter 19th century, the large circular lower pan with frogs, turtles and lily pads embossed along the rim, the central section with three children playing horns, and the upper bowl with a like-decorated edge.

  • Condition: **There are some cracks and losses to metal in the flutes that encapsulate the copper piping/spigots. There are some pitting and losses to metal in the pedestal (beneath the children) around the feet and bolts. One bolt is lacking. There is a 3" x 4" well-done repair to the outside of the top basin. Frogs on the lower basin exhibit significant wear and pitting. There is some discoloration in the patination on the childrens' legs from the mid-thigh down. Fountain exhibits some oxidation, corrosion, and wear - all of which are consistent with age, material and outdoor use.
