Chinese Ancestor Portrait Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), ink and color on paper, depicting a Qing official seated beside an older female figure in red robes, each inscribed with gold ink, and two additional female figures, one in a green robe and the other a blue robe, framed, image, 42-1/4" x 36", framed, 45-1/4" x 38-3/4".


  • Condition: Soiling, buckling and discoloration throughout. Water damage and some splitting on the bottom quarter of the painting. Flaking and losses with inpainting on man's robe and woman's red garment. Fading to gilt, particularly on the collar of the man's robe. Shrinkage to back of frame. Scattered abrasions and nicks to the frame of the painting.
