Chinese Bronze Censer, Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), the round censer with animal-head-form lugs on either side, the underside with a six-character Xuande reign (1426-1435) mark, censer, h. 2-3/8", dia. 5-1/4". Provenance: The collection of Gary Dryer, Dorr, Michigan. Christie's London sold a similar censer on November 3, 2011.


  • Condition: Some accretions and oxidation, particularly on the interior. Scattered surface abraisions and some very slight evidence of shrinkage aloung the foot rim. No breaks or restoration. Wear is consistent with age, material and use.
