Chinese Ebonized Wood and Eglomise Lantern

first quarter 20th century, framed with ebonized wood ornamented with pierced fretwork, dragon heads carved at the top of each corner, the large glass panels decorated with Chinese figures, the top panels with pomegranates and plum blossoms, the interior set with three sockets.

  • Provenance: Descended in the family of Rafael C. and Ethel Regan Goyeneche, Sr., Mexico City, Mexico; Havana, Cuba; and New Orleans, Louisiana.
  • Condition: **In good "as found" condition. There is a small piece of trim missing to the bottom edge of one of the lower aprons. The glass appears to be fine. The interior has three sockets and it is currently illuminated.
