Chinese Famille Rose Porcelain Vase, Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), decorated with flowers, fruit, birds and insects in a famille rose palette on a pale celadon ground, a scene of children frolicking around a seated sage in an idyllic garden rendered in relief on underglaze blue and gilt, with kui dragon handles, h. 23-1/2", dia. 9-1/2".


  • Condition: In overall good condition exhibiting some very light scratches to the surface as well as a few tiny scattered nicks and abrasions to the colorful enamels. A few miniscule areas of craquelure on the surface enamels. Some faint rubbing to gilt and a barely visible hairline crack extending about 10" up the body of the vessel. Wear is minor and consistent with the object's age, material and display. No evidence of repair.
