Chinese Flambe Glazed Porcelain Fanghu Vase, Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), the body of the "arrow vase" in sang de boeuf glaze streaked on the side with white and deep purple, and with handles on each side of the neck, the underside with an incised Qianlong reign mark, h. 12", w. 7-1/4". A nearly identical fanghu vase sold on June 10, 2014 at Sotheby's, Paris. Another similar vase sold on June 18, 2002 at Christie's, London.


  • Condition: Scattered firing anomalies, craquelure and fine lines across the glazed surface. A few tiny chips to the glaze along the foot of the vase from being moved and displayed. Color is vibrant and the piece maintains structural integrity. No breaks or evidence of restoration. Wear is consistent with age and material.
