Chinese Giltwood Figure of a Seated Immortal, Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), probably 19th century, in a black, red and gilt lacquer throne, flanked by a pair of foo dogs, h. 16-3/8", w. 8-1/2".


  • Condition: In overall stable condition consistent with age and material. Scattered losses, chips and abrasions including a loss to the top of the figure's hat, another to the underside brim, wear to the figure's chin, fingertips and chair. Some small shrinkage cracks throughout, particularly along the folds of the figure's garments and on the underside of the base. No visible repairs.
