Provenance: Personal collection of Paul Rosenthal, Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

  • Condition: Light scattering of firing anomalies, nicks, abrasions and fading to surface. Despite some fading due to age, drawn features including the details of the rider's face are still clearly delineated. Some professional conservation has been done, particularly on the horse's legs where some fine lines are still visible. A hairline crack on the horse's belly extending along the underside. Wear and light repairs are consistent with the age, material and display of this object.
