Chinese Rosewood, Mother-of-Pearl and Silk-Embroidered Table Screen

19th century, the silk panel finely embroidered and depicting "The Hundred Birds", the frame and stand profusely inlaid with mother-of-pearl depictions of scholars, deer, plants and trees, the upper right corner bearing the embroidered signature and chop marks.

  • Condition: **The top 1" of the silk panel has horizontal tears, losses and separation to fabric. There are tears, runners to the upper left and right edges. Rest of the silk panel is mostly intact, but still has some runners/tear to the lower left corner and to the right edge. There is a small repair to the lower left edge. Silk exhibits some fading, light staining, and some scattered accretions. The frame and stand are in very good condition with mother-of-pearl intact. The back of the frame has some shrinkage cracks and accretions, and is lacking a tiny sliding latch. The right rear foot has a hairline crack.
