Chinese Stoneware Fahua Jar, Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), 19th century, decorated in relief with immortals standing in a garden, glazed in blue and purple against a blue ground, with a carved and pierced wooden stand, h. 11-1/2", w. 14".

  • Condition: Scattered losses and abrading to glaze, particularly around the mouth of the jar and the foot rim. Some separation around unglazed rim when touched. Firing anomalies throughout, including some cracks on the underside. A 2" long crack upwards from the foot, possibly from the firing process. Another old crack up from the foot with accordant losses with signs of inpainting. Color maintains intensity and the jar overall maintains structural integrity. Light wear is consistent with age and material.
