Continental Carved Mahogany Nine-Tube Tall Case Clock

ca. 1900, the heavily carved case adorned with griffins and acanthine details, the movement with chimes on Eight Bells and Westminster and marked Germany.

Provenance: The Estate of Albert A. Prats, Jr., New Orleans, Louisiana.


  • Condition: **In "as found" condition. There is some flaking to the painted moon dial, and a shrinkage crack to the carved molding just below the center window. No sign of damage or losses. Light surface wear around the winding holes. Crazing to the finish. Three weights, a pendulum and nine tubes present. Lacking the winding crank. We have not had it running. The brass bob on the pendulum has a large dent.
