  • Provenance: "The Reunion of Ulysses and Telemachus"- with Domenico Vantini (1765-1825), Mantua, Italy; Giuseppi Vallardi (1784-1861), Milan, Italy
"Venus and Amor"- Richard Cosway, RA (1742-1821), London, England
The Collection of the Late Dr. E. Ralph Lupin, New Orleans, Louisiana.
  • Condition: **Charon: Has an older, 19th-century taped green and black border around drawing edges (visible when unframed), and four small spots/stains by figure's proper left foot. Ulysses and Telemachus: Has a few small "worn thin" holes to paper scattered throughout and a few small possible tears/separations at corners; drawing has been laid down on paperboard to stabilize condition. Venus and Amor: Has been laid down on paper and has some light smudges/soiling. Male Nude: Due to the nature of the deckle-edged (unfinished paper), the drawing has innate creasing, wrinkling and two tiny losses and a small tear (upper left) to its edges and corners. Drawing has a horizontal (probably folio) fold and is laid down. There are three small stains to the upper right corner. All four drawings exhibit light toning and a few specks of foxing scattered throughout as is to be expected with age and material. Drawings are in overall good condition. Frames have a few light scratches and nicks.
