Continental Walnut Bureau, 20th century, in the Georgian neoclassical taste, the banded slant front opening to an interior fitted with a variety of drawers and cubbyholes, over three long banded drawers, raised on tapering square legs, h. 37-1/4", w. 36", d. 17".
- Condition: In overall good condition with a nicely polished surface, indications of past minor veneer repairs, and normal indications of age and use. Tight and stable. The piece shows indications of some bubbled veneer having been laid back down prior to polishing. There is one small veneer loss at the front corner of the case, near the base of the slant lid. The loss is approximately 1/8" wide by 1/2" long. The brass escutcheons appear to be replaced. Drawers open and close smoothly. Please note that this lot is 20th century, NOT 19th century as stated in the print and earlier online catalogues.
