Three Etchings

each on laid paper
including Adriaen van Ostade (1610-1685), "Peasant in Pointed Fur Cap", ca. 1640, 2-3/4" x 2-3/8"; and Cornelis Bega (1620-1664), "Bar Maiden with Two Customers", ca. 1660, and "Man Looking Through Window", ca. 1650, 7-3/4" x 6-1/2" and 3-3/4" x 3-1/2", respectively.
Each matted, glazed and framed.
framed 11-5/8" x 9-3/4" to 15-1/2" x 13-1/2"

  • Condition: **Ostade: There is a small ~1/4" spherical loss/abrading to the paper surface in the upper right. There is a crescent-shaped watermark above the cap, and soiling/accretion to the lower center.

Bega: "Man in Window"- There are two small tears to the upper left corner and to the top left, and resultant (light) buckling to paper.

Ibid.: "Bar Scene" - no visible losses.

All three exhibit some light toning, specks of foxing and soiling - all of which are to be expected with age and use.

None of the prints are laid.

None were examined out of frame for the condition report, but all were examined out of frame when catalogued and no significant losses or condition issues were notated at that time.
