hallmarked Amsterdam, 1783, by Johannes Hermanus Logerath, the oval basked with wire-work sides and twisted mid-rib, with beaded rim and swing handle pierced with navettes.

  • Condition: **In overall good condition. Two tiny spots of repair where two of the wire uprights join the rim, but with no issues noted beyond the expected patina of age. No dents, breaks or other repairs noted. Hallmarked (on the underside) with: 1) the crowned lion rampant guarantee mark; 2) the three palewise crowned saltires of Amsterdam; 3) the date letter "Y" for 1783; and 4) the "I*L" maker's mark of Johannes Logerath. Marks good. Additionally marked on the underside and the handle with the "hatchet" duty mark in use 1853-1927 for antique items.
