Early 18th-Century Silesian 12 Lot (.750) Silver Snuffbox, by Andreas von Nordt (fl. 1689-ca. 1710), Breslau (now Wroclaw, Poland), of oval form, the fitted, cavetto domed lid with gadrooned rim engraved with an armorial (argent, three mullets of six points gules, two and one), l. 2-3/4", w. 2", 2.58 t. oz.


  • Condition: Overall Condition: Good. Scattered pinpoint dings and scuffs, but otherwise no condition issues noted beyond the wear associated with age. Visible solder marks at the joins, part of the original construction. Lid snug. Marked (on the underside) with the Wroclaw "W" and the "A/VN" maker's mark of Andreas van Nordt [Hintze VI & 121]. Also with an assayer's test strike. Marks very good, though the "N" of the maker's mark is partially struck.
