Early George II Giltwood Mirror, first quarter 18th century, the broad crest with an arched center flanked by short swan's-neck pediments, decorated with shallow scrolled relief carving and flowers on a stippled ground, the sides with like decoration and terminating in carved leaves, the lower portion carved with a shell flanking medallions and bellflowers, h. 51", w. 27-1/2".


  • Condition: In generally good condition. Minor shrinkage cracks at top and bottom of mirror plate, which is old but not first period. Gold leaf surface intact with scattered repairs, now darkened.
