Fine Edwardian Chinoiserie-Decorated Satinwood Breakfront ca. 1900, in two parts, the upper section with a fretwork gallery, the doors with glazed panels and pagoda-form mullions, on a conforming base, raised on square legs joined by shaped stretchers, the whole on an ebonized platform base, adorned throughout with parcel-gilt and polychromed decoration in the Chinese taste, h. 81", w. 69-1/2", d. 24".


  • Condition: In generally very good condition. Rubbing and minor loses to bellflower drops on the base. A 1/2" x 1/4" veneer loss on the right side, adjacent to a hinge. Shrinkage crack to the interior floor veneer, and scattered minor bubbling to veneer. Corners of the crest have been re-glued, due to age shrinkage.
