Edwardian Giltwood Overmantel Mirror in the Adam Taste, first quarter 20th century, divided by pilasters set with Corinthian capitals, the mirror plates decorated with overhanging festoons of acanthus leaves, and the frieze with carved medallions and leaves, supporting a pierced crest decorated with delicate pierced scrollwork, draped urns and pierced anthemia, h. 59-1/2", w. 66-1/2".


  • Condition: Gold leaf surface with scattered wear and accretions. There are scattered shrinkage cracks throughout the molded decoration. On the right pilaster, the top molding is off and needs to be reattached. Scattered losses to the bellflowers lining the vertical sides of all three mirror panels. No additional losses. It presents very well.
