Edwardian Mahogany Engineer's Cabinet, early 20th century, the molded cornice above a case fitted with two doors, each inset with two shaped panels and opening to a shelved interior, the lower section fitted with two long drop-front cabinets over an arrangement of thirteen smaller drawers, some with labels, such as "Plans", "Tracings", "Board of Trade", etc., all raised on a plinth base, h. 95", w. 50", d. 26".

  • Condition: Interesting and useful cabinet in generally good condition. The sides have been extended from top to bottom with somewhat darker boards at the rear side edges, probably to accommodate electronics. The upper portion is built all of the way out and has an interior shelf with one rear hole for cords. The lower section built out only on the sides with the rear recessed to the original back. One side with two old patches, both sides with typical shrinkage cracks, some now filled. The two fall-front sections each with several rear holes for more cords. The side plinth boards replaced. Scattered dings and scuffs to the edges. Brass hardware appears to be original.
