Empire Mahogany Breakfront Cabinet, second quarter 19th century, the molded cornice above a case fitted with a central cabinet door with an applied ormolu wreath mount, flanked to either side by a slender concealed cupboard, fronted by two square uprights, the lower conforming section with a white marble top over a central frieze drawer, joined by square supports to a plinth shelf base, the whole richly accented with ormolu mounts in the Empire taste, h. 74-1/2", w. 37-1/4", d. 19".


  • Condition: Scattered nicks to edges from age and use. Evidence of repair to hinge at top and bottom of center door. Scattered scratches to base, areas of discoloration to finish, finish appears to be newer. Evidence of earlier mounts now absent.
