(French, 1798-1863)

"Ecce Homo (Christ du Roseau)", 1833

etching on chine colle paper printed by Cabinet de l'Amateur, Strasbourg
signed, dated and printer inscribed in lower plate.
Matted, glazed and framed.
plate 6-5/8" x 4", framed 10-3/4" x 8-3/8"

  • Condition: **The Delacroix is on chine colle - a fine smooth paper adhered/laid down on the wove paper before printing. It is probably a second or third state. The chine colle exhibits some light toning throughout and very faint soiling at the corners. The upper left corner is slightly bent (turned up), and there is a small spot/accretion to Christ's left ring finger. In overall good condition.
