  • Condition: **The sculpture exhibits numerous repairs, many of which are not easily visible due to the variegated marble medium. The harp has been repaired in three places with some gold "retouched" overpainting. The figure's proper right forearm near the elbow has been repaired. The thumb on the right hand is lacking and the other four fingers have been repaired. There are two small additional losses to the bottom edge of the stola (dress) and to the back of the left shoulder. The stola dress strap on the left shoulder has been repaired with faint traces of visible filler at the site of repair, as has the back left side of the horizontal sash. Additional repairs with colored composite fillers have been applied to the folded edge of the figure's stola near the left breast, to the folds near the harp, to the right side of the sash, and under the sleeve of the right arm. There are two small holes/pits to the left cheek, which may be innate anomalies, and scattered nicks and chips to the edges of the self-base. It is recommended that the work be viewed in person and/or additional photographs of the damages be requested.
