Exceptional French Empire Bronze Dore et Patine Figural Clock

first quarter 19th century, depicting the tale of Androcles pulling a thorn from a lion's paw, with a figure of Androcles on one side and a lion on the other, with an "Androcles" name under the dial, the base with a depiction of the tale in beautifully cast bas-relief, mounted with a silk-string suspension movement.

  • Condition: **In good "as found" condition. Some minor surface pitting to the polished brass. Fine detail to the casting. No sign of losses or repairs. Winding key and pendulum are present. We are uncertain as to its running condition.
