  • Provenance: The Estate of Bonnie Bolding Swearingen, Birmingham, Alabama.
  • Condition: **In overall good condition. The navy blue Imari glaze is inconsistent (even on similar pattern pieces) and exhibits some innate anomalies: there are glaze slips, pops, slightly different opacities in glaze, and the wear is inconsistent - some dishes exhibit notable losses to glaze without apparent cause - use/cutlery, etc. Most of the dinner, salad and some dessert plates exhibit signs of light use - some scuffs and/or utensil marks to wells. On the dinner plates, two have small chips to their foot rims, and several need to be washed. On the salad plates, one has been visibly repaired (glued back together) and two others have "flea-bite" chips to the underside of their rims. On the fluted dessert plates, there is a chip to one foot rim. The lid on one covered vegetable dish has been repaired and there is a chip to its foot rim. One cachepot has been repaired at its neck and rim. Both compote bowls rest on their footed stems; the taller one has been glued down.
Please note there are seven saucers, not six as stated in the print catalogue description.
