ca. 1900, French, each piece decorated with hand-painted fish in a seascape, artist-signed "Max", framed with raised gilt scrollwork and shell-edged faded cobalt borders, with an underglaze green "Limoges France" mark with an arrow and a red retailer's glaze mark, "Higgins & Seiter, New York, Elite, France", the set including a platter, w. 25", d. 11", twelve plates, dia. 9-1/2", and a sauceboat with stand, h. 4", w. 9".
