fourth quarter 19th century, New York, New York, in the "Homeric" pattern, #167X, the engraved handle with hammered finish and gilt neoclassical medallion, with twisted guard, the long, scimitar-shaped blade with openwork scrolls engraved with "motion" lines.

  • Condition: **In overall good condition with the expected signs of age: scuffs, pinpoint dings and light wear to the relief. Some loss to the gilding on the top third of the medallion. A series of short 1/8" scratches on one blade edge at the tip. Marked (on the underside) with the Shiebler winged "S" trademark and "Sterling / & 14 K / 167X".
